MATHEMATICS TEACHER (DAYTON, OH)
Design, write and use lesson plans; teach Mathematics to high school students through lectures, discussions, and demonstrations; implement appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials and equipment to ensure comprehension of learning styles and student needs; establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate these objectives to students; prepare students for standardized tests and math related competitions; coordinate school math fairs and/or extracurricular activities as assigned; employ technology practices to strengthen the instructional process; help students assess and enhance their study methods and habits; produce formal and informal testing to evaluate student success; prepare classroom to enhance learning and to aid in physical, social and emotional development of students; provide input on book, equipment and material selection; establish communication rapport with parents, students, principals, and other teachers through meetings and conferences; gather, manage, and maintain all reports, records, and other required documents; be active in faculty and professional meetings, and educational conferences, and assist in staff committees as necessary.
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics education, mathematics, or economics, and 24 months of full-time experience in the job or as a teaching assistant, and an Ohio State teaching (at least 5-year long-term substitute) license in math required. $52,500 per year.
