Overview
This role focuses on on-site maintenance, repair, technical support, and installation of machinery—mainly precision equipment like Machining Centers—used in industrial manufacturing. The technician will help keep equipment running efficiently, reduce downtime, and support smooth production operations for clients. The primary service region covers Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site maintenance and repairs, addressing both routine tasks and unexpected breakdowns.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and implement solutions efficiently using technical expertise and specialized tools.
- Serve as the main on-site contact for clients, explaining work performed, maintenance recommendations, and improvement suggestions.
- Record detailed service reports, including work completed, parts replaced, and observations.
- Follow all safety procedures to protect personnel and equipment during service visits.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in field service, maintenance, or technical support, ideally in automotive or machinery settings.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and familiarity with production equipment.
- Effective problem-solving skills to handle technical challenges under time pressure.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and coordinate with the team.
- Customer-oriented approach and ability to build positive client relationships.
- Willingness to travel to client sites and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Teams, and SharePoint for documentation and reporting.
- Japanese–English bilingual skills; prior experience with a Japanese company in the U.S. is a plus.
