Design automated production equipment using CAD / CAE software tools. Responsible for designing tooling and machines to be used in company's production facilities. Achieve project milestones and maintain the project schedule for all responsible work. Work with Engineering Team to support the creation of equipment design requirements and development of concepts. Perform quality check of drawings. Support overall initiative and business plan goals. Create detailed assembly drawings used to assemble and install production equipment. Lead 1 to 5 indirect reports on more complex design jobs. Perform quality checks to ensure deliverables are meeting customer requirements. Prepare materials and present for design review approvals. Provide design support during equipment installs. Effectively communicate with leadership and fellow team members. Support the development of project schedules. Provide troubleshooting support as needed. 10% domestic and international travel required.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology; 3 years of relevant professional experience; 3 years of experience designing automotive tooling or equivalent; 3 years of experience creating drawings for part manufacturing; 3 years of experience creating assembly drawings used by technicians to assemble and install equipment; 1 year of experience with Finite Element Analysis to perform strength analysis of components; and 1 year of experience with Pneumatic circuit design to design and select components to be used for equipment control.
