Job Description: Production Supervisor

Position Title: Production Supervisor
Department: Production
Reports To: Plant Manager
Location: 80 Mead St Dayton, Ohio 45402


Position Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production operations to ensure efficiency, quality, safety, and productivity standards are met. This position plays a key role in coordinating workflow, supporting team members, and maintaining a positive and safe work environment within the plant. The Production Supervisor leads by example, ensuring that company policies and procedures are followed while meeting customer and business needs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate day-to-day production activities to meet department goals and delivery schedules.

  • Monitor employee performance, attendance, and productivity; provide coaching, feedback, and corrective action when necessary.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and sanitation standards.

  • Conduct daily start-up meetings to communicate production goals, staffing assignments, and process updates.

  • Partner with maintenance and other departments to resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime.

  • Maintain accurate production reports, including tracking output, efficiency, and quality metrics.

  • Train, develop, and motivate production staff to achieve individual and team objectives.

  • Monitor inventory levels of materials and supplies needed for daily production.

  • Ensure consistent adherence to company policies and procedures.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Lead by example to foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work culture.


Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2–4 years of supervisory experience in a production, manufacturing, or industrial environment.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Working knowledge of production metrics, process improvement, and quality control.

  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite, production systems).

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. on occasion.

  • Regular exposure to hot or humid environments typical of industrial laundry operations.
