Company Overview

Summary

We are looking for a Project Estimator to join our growing team! The Estimator will serve as a liaison between our customers, field employees and office staff.

To be a successful Estimator you should be highly detail-oriented individual with good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Additionally, candidates should have the ability to organize and prioritize workloads and work independently.

Responsibilities

Manage the entire bid process from initial inquiry through final proposal submission for assigned electrical projects.

Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to thoroughly understand the project scope, conditions and requirements.

Perform comprehensive quantity take-offs from blueprints electrical drawings, specifications, and other bid documents.

Develop detailed material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.

Identify and evaluate project risks and opportunities to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.

Present estimates and proposal to internal teams and external clients.

Maintain and update internal cost databases and historical project data.

Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders during the estimating phase.

 

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 plus years of experience with an electrical contractor.

Strong working knowledge of electrical installation means and methods, systems, components, and industry best practices.

In-depth understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations.

Proficiency with industry standard estimating software and strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to accurately read and interpret complex electrical blueprints, specifications, and contract documents.

Exceptional analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple bids concurrently, prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Proven experience as a Project Estimator in the construction industry.

Proficient in Bluebeam software.

Strong understanding of construction estimating principles and practices.

Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes.

Familiarity with cost control methods and pricing strategies.

Experience working on construction sites is highly desirable

Knowledge of contracts and project management processes is a plus.
