Pay: $18.25/hr. (with no OEPA Wastewater License), $20.50 - $27.71 (with OEPA Wastewater License)

Class I License: +$1.50/hr.
Class II License: +$1.75/hr.
Class III License: +$2.25/hr.
2nd Shift (starting at or after 12:00 p.m.): +$1.50/hr.
3rd Shift (starting at or after 8:00 p.m.): +$3.00/hr.
Saturday/Sunday Premium: +$2.25/hr.
(Premiums may compound; overtime paid at 1.5x rate.)
Position Summary
The Wastewater Treatment Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining pumps, instruments, and treatment equipment to ensure efficient plant operations and environmental compliance. This role requires technical skill, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and teamwork in a 24-hour facility.
Essential Job Functions
Operate and maintain equipment associated with Preliminary, Secondary, Post, and Chemical Treatment, as well as Aerobic Digestion and Biosolids Dewatering.
Perform plant rounds to inspect processes, collect readings, and report deficiencies or abnormal data.
Take and record measurements of pressures, flows, and levels to monitor performance and efficiency.
Collect and process wastewater samples in compliance with NPDES permit requirements.
Adjust operational processes to maintain or improve treatment effectiveness.
Maintain housekeeping of process equipment, tanks, and work areas.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Valid Ohio Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
OEPA Class I or higher Wastewater Certification or ability to obtain certification within 18 months of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong math and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communication.
Basic computer literacy and record-keeping ability.
Ability to perform physical labor, multitask, and work collaboratively.
Self-motivated, dependable, and goal-oriented.
