Job Summary

The Environmental Intern will support Barrett Paving's environmental team in implementing sustainable practices and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. This internship offers hands-on experience in environmental monitoring, data analysis, and project support within the construction and paving industry.

Main Responsibilities

Assist in conducting environmental site assessments and inspections to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Collect and analyze environmental data related to air quality, water runoff, soil conditions, and waste management.
Support the development and implementation of environmental sustainability initiatives and best practices.
Help prepare environmental reports, permits, and documentation for regulatory agencies.
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving environmental performance on project sites.
Assist in training and educating field personnel on environmental compliance and safety protocols.
Conduct research on environmental regulations and emerging industry standards relevant to paving and construction.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.
Basic knowledge of environmental regulations and construction industry practices is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to work outdoors and visit construction sites as needed.
