Production Engineer-Body. Design and develop new Body engineering model processes to the manufacturing facilities which meet all targets for Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost for Toyota’s North American Body Manufacturing Shops. Guide the process development through process design, machine specification, equipment procurement and installation, safety risk assessments, dimensional accuracy investigations and process trials based on project milestones and events. Interact with outside groups (Body Manufacturing Pilot, Stamping PE, Plant Facilities, etc.) to divide responsibilities and resolve conflicts. Work schedule includes working weekends, holidays, and other manufacturing shutdown periods to support tooling modification and installation projects as needed. Travel up to 30% (US, Mexico, Canada, Japan) to machine vendors and manufacturing locations as needed. Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus 2 years in: Automotive manufacturing experience; performing geometrical accuracy analysis; using AutoCAD, C3, or Catia; and project management experience. Willingness and ability to work weekends, holiday periods, and shutdown periods to support tooling modification and installation projects. Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% in U.S., Mexico, Canada, and Japan to support machine vendors. Willingness to relocate and work at unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. as needed.
