Job Title: Justice Policy & Grants Coordinator
Department: Countywide Criminal Justice Agencies Reports To: Marion County Board of Commissioners (or designated oversight body) Location: Marion County, Ohio FLSA Status: Exempt Salary Range: Commensurate with experience

Position Summary
The Justice Policy & Grants Coordinator is a senior-level position responsible for the development, coordination, and oversight of criminal justice grant initiatives and related programs across Marion County criminal justice agencies. This includes the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the Multi-County Correctional Center, Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, Marion County Common Pleas Court, and the Marion County Adult Probation Department.
The Director will identify and secure external funding through state, federal, and private grant opportunities; manage grant compliance and reporting requirements; promote interagency collaboration; and provide policy guidance to improve efficiency, strengthen public safety, and reduce taxpayer costs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Grant Development and Management
•  Research, prepare, and submit competitive grant applications to state, federal, and private entities.
•  Provide support to Department Fiscal Agents to assist in management of awarded grants, including budgeting, compliance, reporting, and renewal.
•  Track program and financial performance, providing regular updates to the Board of Commissioners and other stakeholders.
Interagency Coordination and Collaboration
•  Serve as liaison between the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Multi-County Correctional Center, Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, Marion County Common Pleas Court, Marion County Adult Probation, and other county agencies.
•  Facilitate collaboration to align resources, reduce duplication of services, and implement cost-effective practices.
•  Support the development, monitoring, and evaluation of cross-agency, evidence-based criminal justice programs.
Program and Policy Oversight
•  Assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of new and existing criminal justice programs.
•  Monitor state and federal legislation and assess potential impacts on county programs and funding.
•  Provide policy recommendations to the Board of Commissioners to improve operational efficiency and outcomes.
•  Promote data-driven decision-making and evidence-based practices to support recidivism reduction and community safety.

Leadership and Representation
•  Represent Marion County on state and regional committees, boards, and initiatives.
•  Lead and coordinate quarterly countywide Criminal Justice meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
•  Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Accounting, Public Administration, Social Work, or a closely related field.
•  Minimum of three (3) years of experience in grant writing, criminal justice program coordination, or administration.
•  Demonstrated ability to prepare and manage complex grants, including budget development and compliance monitoring.
•  Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written/oral communication skills.
•  Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and government agencies.

Preferred Qualifications
•  Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field.
•  Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in government, criminal justice, or policy administration.
•  Knowledge of local, state, and federal government processes.
•  Proven leadership ability with skill in navigating political environments and maintaining positive working relationships with elected officials and agency leadership.
•  Demonstrated commitment to accountability, transparency, and improving outcomes for justice-involved individuals.
•  Familiarity with Ohio criminal justice systems, County and Municipal Government, and their funding streams is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
•  Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

•  Travel within the State of Ohio and attendance at evening or weekend meetings may be required.
