Position Description

Reports To: Executive Director/Program Director

Evaluated by: Executive Director/Program Director

Positions Supervised: None

Requirements: 1-3 years of work or volunteer experience within a social service setting or similar qualifying experience; High School diploma (or GED equivalent). Understanding of issues of homelessness and good advocacy skills. Good written and oral communication skills.

Work Schedule: M-F: 4:00pm-12:00am, 12:00am-8:00am, Weekends: 8:00am-4:00pm, 4:00pm-12:00am, 12:00am-8:00am. Call-in as needed as scheduled by the Executive Director/Program Director; non-exempt.

Hourly Wage: $15.00/hr (as determined by the Executive Director and approved by the Board of Directors).

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide overnight supervision for the operation of the St. Vincent de Paul Housing Facility, Inc. in accordance with operating policies and procedures during assigned shifts, including but not limited to the following:

Coordinate and ensure adequate communication among staff to effectively assist and supervise residents;

Complete accurate and timely written records, activity logs, reports, and other documentation;

Administer, interpret, and record findings of drug and/or alcohol tests.

Ensure resident compliance with agency and facility policies, rules, regulations, and guidelines;

Ensure orderliness, safe storage, and confidentiality of all resident and staff hard copy and computer-based files;

Supervise the completion of facility chores to be completed in the morning, record completion and maintain safe, sanitary and orderly conditions of the facility;

Conduct an inventory at least weekly to ensure an adequate supply of foods, linens and facility supplies; notify Executive Director/Program Director if supplies are required.

Maintain the inventory of locks for resident lockers; notify the Executive Director/Program Director if new locks are required.

Inform the Executive Director/Program Director and other staff members of any special conditions, events or needs as they relate to residents, supplies, forms, and safety;

Conduct daily room checks to ensure resident rooms are neat and well-maintained;

Set out breakfast for residents daily;

Set out lunch food for residents to make their lunch daily;

Assist residents in taking the correct amounts of prescribed medications and maintaining medication logs;

Regularly update the volunteer hours spreadsheet to correctly track and report volunteer support;

Attend staff, special events and all other meetings as directed by the Executive Director;

Attend meetings, workshops and conferences for the agency and professional development as recommended by the Executive Director/Program Director.

All other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director/Program Director.
