What does our Internship Program offer?

Key's Enterprise Internship is a 10.5-week program that provides meaningful work that matters, offers feedback and coaching, and creates engaging events and conversations that will spark excitement and interest in bringing one's full-time career to Key.

Interns are involved in a host of line of business specific projects that directly impact and benefit Key's business and strategic pillars. The program includes networking with Key teammates across all levels of the organization, a series of Learning Labs where internal and external speakers provide insight on Key's competitive landscape, financial wellness, and professional development best practices, and an assigned mentor who shares knowledge, experience, and advice.

Job Summary

The CX Centricity and Process Design Intern will support the KeyXD team by contributing to initiatives that enhance KeyBank's client and employee experiences through user-centered design and process strategy. This role offers hands-on experience applying design thinking methodologies to uncover pain points, identify opportunities, and co-create solutions that improve experiences across the organization.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to strengthen your UX strategy and design skills, share your perspective, and contribute to journey mapping, process improvement, stakeholder engagement, and experience innovation. You'll collaborate with a team of experience champions, gaining exposure to how design and process centricity drive meaningful change at KeyBank.

Essential Functions

Leverage design thinking tools and strategie.
Collaborate with teammates and partners
Work with users to understand pain points and opportunities
Perform other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities, and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice
Comply with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key's clients and Key

Education

Must have completed at least two years toward a four-year, undergraduate degree program with coursework in Customer Experience, Business, Marketing, Statistics, Communications, Journalism, or related field with an anticipated graduation in or before May of 2027.

Work Experience

Coursework, projects, or case studies that actively incorporated design thinking, problem solving, solutioning, analytics, or research
Projects that required use of effective writing and storytelling
Projects that exemplify productive collaboration and ability to remove blockers

Skills

Conceptual thinking for creative problem solving
Strong relationship-building and influencing orientation with a keen ability to identify business needs and recognize opportunities to partner
Draw learnings from various resources (client research, business objectives, implementation plans, financials, etc.)
Ability to apply baseline level of business acumen in interpreting/summarizing insights to align with strategic priorities
Strong structured thinking skills with the ability to break down complex problems into frameworks, approaches and recommendations
Compelling written and oral storytelling with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining high quality work products, including initiating, tracking, and reporting progress
Collaboratively focused and able to work with a diverse group of stakeholders
Productive and professional communicator, in face-to-face or virtual scenerios
Familiarity with client experience theory, concepts and methodologies is preferred
Proficiency in Miro, Figma or Adobe Suite
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint

Physical Demands

General Office: Prolonged sitting, ability to communicate face to face in-person or on the phone with teammates and clients, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of backpacks, computer bags up to 10 lbs.

Location

The internship is open to placement in Cleveland or New York City.

Compensation and Benefits

This position is eligible to earn an hourly rate of $23 per hour. Compensation also includes a $2,000.00 Summer Internship Sign-on Bonus.

KeyBank's Internship and Analyst positions are not eligible for employment visa sponsorship (e.g., H-1B visa). This includes, for example, situations where a candidate may have temporary work authorization while enrolled in school or upon graduation (e.g., CPT, OPT) but would need H-1B visa sponsorship within a few years of employment in order to maintain employment eligibility.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base hourly rate in the range of $18.00 - $22.60 per hour. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location.
Please note: While a base pay range is referenced above, this position is compensated at a fixed rate of $23 hourly and is eligible to receive a $2,000 sign-on bonus.
