Position Summary




Odyssey is seeking a Hazardous Materials Specialist 2 position to support the The Naval Medical Research Unit Dayton (NAMRU-D) in Dayton, OH. NAMRU-D's mission is to maximize warfighter performance and survivability through world-class aeromedical and environmental health research by delivering solutions to the field, the Fleet, and for the future.

Responsibilities




Duties include, but are not limited to:

Serves as the NAMRU-D Unit Environmental Coordinator and Chemical Hygiene Officer with responsibility for all hazardous materials (HAZMAT) and hazardous waste (HAZWASTE).
Serves to keep NAMRU-D in compliance with the Installation Hazardous Material Plan and environmental compliance requirements.
Maintains HAZMAT and HAZWASTE databases and documentation pertaining to all HAZMAT and HAZWASTE operations.
Conducts physical inventories of HAZMAT.
Provides applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), HAZMAT, and HAZWASTE training to NAMRU-D staff members.
Proficient with computer software, including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suites programs.
Experience with OSHA, HAZMAT, and HAZWASTE compliance requirements.
Must have excellent interpersonal, oral communication and written skills.
Knowledge and understanding of Installation Hazardous Material Plan and environmental compliance requirements.

Qualifications




Minimum Required Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Clearance: Secret (Able to Obtain)

Education: Associate Degree or higher level degree in waste management, industrial hygiene, occupational and environmental health, safety sciences, or related field required.

Years of Experience: 2 years of relevant experience in hazardous material, hazardous waste, and industrial hygiene programs.
