Position Overview




Riverside Research is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support a cleared program facility at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. You will be responsible for administering and managing multiple networks in the facility. As an experienced administrator, you will be supported by a technical administration team. You must have a strong knowledge of Windows and Linux systems and the networks that connect them to help lead and support your team to deliver a highly reliable IT infrastructure to your customers. You will be a technical Subject Matter Expert on IT systems and networks and expected to perform hands-on configuration and management of these systems. Work will be on site and must be cleared to Top-Secret to start.

Responsibilities




Job Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and resolve complex information technology problems using all available resources in a research environment.
Configure and administer virtual network system environments
Provide Tier I to Tier III support for all customer systems including, but not limited to, account/system maintenance, investigating user problems, troubleshooting network complications, and resolving complex IT issues.
Author and maintain SOPs for system and network administration activities
Manage and apply system updates and patches on a minimum monthly basis
Assess and prioritize customer solution requests.
Manage risk assessments and approvals prior to installation
Upgrade and configure software for each project or operational solution request
Maintain and administer data retention and recovery solutions
Install, configure, and maintain hardware in accordance with DoD compliance standards and project requirements
Install, configure, and maintain network equipment
Experience managing Windows server utilizing PowerShell
Create, change, and delete user accounts per request
Repair and recover from hardware or software failures
Recognize security risks and report violations appropriately.
Coordinate all significant information technology changes with ISSM/ISSO
Create, update, and manage networked and stand-alone machine images
Other duties as assigned


Qualifications




Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 3 years with a master's degree, a PhD without experience, or equivalent work experience
Strong Windows and Linux administration experience: 5+ years of experience with system, server and network administration
Solid understanding of network and system security requirements and practices
Experience building scripts and troubleshooting complex IT system and network problems
Advanced network management experience and strong planning and organization skills
Able to prioritize work and complete it without direct supervision
Experience communicating technical subjects to non-technical leadership
COMPTIA Security+ certification or DoD 8570 IAT Level II equivalent certification

Desired Qualifications:

8+ years applicable experience
Experience with administration in a cleared facility is highly desired
Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field
Relevant administrator certifications
Relevant advanced IA security certifications
Working knowledge of SCCM and WSUS
VMware experience
RedHat Linux administration experience
Ability to lift to 50lbs

$109,000 - $165,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
