Job description
Local potato chip maker is in search of a Fryer Operator. A family-owned business that
makes Hartville Potato Chips in Akron, Ohio. This is an exciting time as we are starting to
become more popular within the community and grow very quickly!
We make Hartville Potato Chips the way potato chips used to be made, small batch with simple
ingredients. Based on our manufacturing process, it is important for all employees to work
together. The Fryer Operator is responsible for managing the potato chip fryer, ensuring each
batch is cooked to perfection and maintaining a steady production flow. This role involves
monitoring chip quality and timing, preventing chips from sticking on the fryer edges, and
providing support to team members working on both sides of the cooker to keep the operation
running smoothly. Must be able to work as an individual and as a team member.
As a food manufacturer, we maintain strict food safety guidelines as required by the Ohio
Department of Agriculture. Hours vary based on multiple factors such as potato availability,
however typical hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.
Additional hours available to help clean as we break down equipment each week. Based on
current sales growth, we anticipate adding more shifts within the next few months.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use
hands, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear. The employee is
frequently required to climb or balance, and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally
required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth
perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color.
 
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving
mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather),
and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
