Starting Pay:
- Lab Trainee: $16.49/hr – $24.74/hr
- Lab Technician: $20.50/hr – $30.48/hr
Additional Premiums:
- Class I License: +$1.50/hr
- Class II License: +$1.75/hr
- Saturday/Sunday Premium: +$1.00/hr

Position Summary
The Wastewater Laboratory Technician position involves a broad range of duties associated with technical work within a laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Experience performing standardized tests, collecting data, and assisting laboratory personnel.
- Ability to enhance process knowledge, develop familiarity with departmental rules and regulations, demonstrate initiative and logic, and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to provide professional customer service.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as required.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform daily tests on wastewater samples in various stages of treatment to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
- Operate, clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Calculate results from raw laboratory data; log results; and maintain accurate test records to facilitate preparation of various state wastewater treatment reports.
- Prepare reagents, standards, and test solutions as needed.
- Assist with data entry and other related duties as assigned.
- Collect samples and perform on-site analysis as necessary.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License with a safe driving record and successful completion of drug screening.
- One (1) year of technical laboratory experience or equivalent is preferred.
