.NET Software Engineer

About the Job

The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing software systems, applications for software enhancements and new products, including cloud-based or internet-related tools for internal consumption. This role will provide technical solutions enabling the organization to meet its strategic objectives. The incumbent will collaborate with team members to ensure successful teamwork and effective delivery of software solutions.

Assist in software planning cycles, providing input on product/project estimates, and aligning with the team's goals and timelines
Develop a deeper understanding of business requirements and work closely with experienced team members to create technical specifications that implement the requirements effectively
Research and propose ideas for designing software, applications and database enhancements or new products in alignment with business requirements and technical specifications defined
Develop, build and test software systems or applications to meet business requirements and leverage expertise of senior team members for specific challenges
Support in writing high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code in various programming languages
Update task statuses and track completion for the bug fixes conducted to identify and remediate defects in software solutions
Research, propose, and implement leading practices for creating and maintaining technical documentation including code comments, design documents, and user manuals
Collaborate with business analysts, quality assurance testers, and project managers to ensure that software solutions meet business requirements
Ensure timely completion of backend work ahead of end-user engagement to ensure proper use of software solutions

Minimum Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future

Education

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or in lieu of a degree, at least 3 years of experience in software development

Knowledge & Experience

Required

2-4 years of experience in software development in the software development industry
Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practices
Knowledge of at least one software development language such as VB.NET, C#
Knowledge of relational databases and SQL as well as web services and APIs
Strong written and verbal communication skill

Preferred

Experience supporting finance or accounting applications
Expertise in supporting OneStream or Hyperion Planning/Essbase applications
