Director of Dining Services
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Dining Services department in accordance with current federal, state and local regulations, and American Dietetic Association Clinical Dietetic standards to ensure successful functioning of a quality department. Quality Assurance program Responsibility within the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise, assign, and oversee dietary staff to ensure that food services provided for residents, staff, and at special events meet quality standards.
Develop and manage department budget and finances including but not limited to planning, managing inventory, and ordering supplies.
Plan and review menus for nutritional adequacy, organization, and acceptance of entree with variety and resident likes.
Operate department in compliance with all federal, state, local, and facility regulations, policies, and procedures.
Conduct and participate in in-service education, career development, and training for staff.
Maintain good working relationships with department and inter-department personnel.
Attend facility meetings as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
SUPERVISES: Supervisor Dining Services
EDUCATION: High school diploma and a minimum qualification as a Certified Dietary Manager.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years' experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or other related medical facility. Experience in personnel management, budget and cost control in a food service operation is a plus. One year charting experience preferred.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Leadership ability with good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to supervise and secure cooperation of department staff.

Knowledge of Microsoft office, spreadsheets, and food service programs.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Flexibility in managing schedule including weekends and evening hours.
Valid Ohio driver's license, access to reliable insured transportation and ability to meet LSS insurance standards required
