Job Summary
The Production Assistant/Machine Operator will operate a cored wire machine, ensuring efficient material feeding and performing preventive maintenance as needed. This role is in the production department and requires forklift experience for moving and loading coils.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a cored wire machine and related equipment
- Perform material feeding into the machine
- Utilize a forklift to move and load coils safely and efficiently
- Conduct preventive maintenance on machines
- Follow safety and operational protocols
Position Details
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (40 hours per week)
- Overtime: Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required
- Type: Full-time, Temp-to-Hire
Qualifications
- Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Technical/Vocational School preferred)
- Experience:
- Forklift operation (sit-down forklift required)
- Machine operation experience preferred
- Overhead crane operation experience (preferred but not required)
- Basic mechanical, electrical, and welding skills (preferred but not required)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to stand, sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to lift to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
