FieldLink is a network infrastructure staffing company helping people find rewarding careers in the Telecom and Low Voltage Industry. We specialize in customized staffing partnerships with industry leading integrators responsible for large commercial projects and government contracts nation-wide.
We are currently hiring an OSP Lead Technician to work in New Albany, OH. This role is a direct hire opportunity, joining a global team offering continued industry training.
What you will do:
Must be willing to travel for extended periods of time depending on project location.
Be able to work outside in different types of weather conditions (cold, snow, rain and heat).
Experience in the installation of Maxcell, Microproduct, innerduct and fiber optic cable in a data center environment.
Experience in fiber splicing and testing.
Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement.
Provide structured feedback on project progress to stakeholders.
Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain data center cleanliness.
Follow all production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
Collaborate with various Stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
Reading and comprehending blueprints, building documentation/redline work and cable schedules.
Broad understanding of data center infrastructure technologies.
What you will need:
Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools.
Must be capable of leading a crew of 5-10 technicians.
Must understand customer service, perform job walks and communicate with customer for job requirements.
Accept responsibility for the outcome of work performed by him/her and/or by employee that directly report to him/her.
Clear understanding of job safety requirements.
Be able to read and understand project design documents.
Ability to install various types of innerduct (e.g.: Maxcell, 1.25" ID and Microduct) and fiber optic cable.
Capable of maintaining orderly paperwork, capable of running midsize to large projects and service jobs.
Possess skills to dress all types of cable and perform all types of terminations and should include basic understanding of fiber equipment, all types of cable and fiber terminations.
Basic understanding of both copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting.
Track and review timesheets for your crew.
Maintaining paperwork and running service jobs.
Effectively communicate with Foreman, Leads, Technicians and Superintendent.
Track lessons learned as they occur.
Coordinates with QAQC on quality status walks.
Knowledge and understanding of project close out.
Identify the strengths and weaknesses of crew members.
Must be able to drive company vehicles and the ability to pull and back up trailers.
Must be able to blow fiber optic cables.
