REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be available the entire work period of 01/12/2026-09/26/2026. Must agree to work Mon-Fri, 6 hours per day, Sat, 5 hours. Employer will provide transportation from employer provided living quarters to work site every day. Must read, and agree to, all terms and conditions of employment prior to a referral to the employer.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least 2 months of verifiable experience in all job duties. This job requires exposure to extreme temperatures, ability to lift 75 lbs., repetitive movements, extensive walking, frequent stooping, extensive pushing and pulling, drug screen.
JOB DUTIES: Handling manual tasks associated with commodity production and harvest activities.
Crops: Annuals (Baskets, flats, 4" potted, 10" potted, assorted pots), Vegetables (Flats, 4" potted), Mums, Poinsettias, Boxwood. Perennials (quarts, gallons), Herbs (3 ½” pots, quarts, 1 gallon), Proven Winner Shrubs (3, 5 gallon). Everything related to plant production & shipping. Mixing soil, filling containers with soil, planting, loading, unloading plants, pushing carts, pulling orders, unloading plant material from conveyors, hanging baskets, labeling plant material, cleaning plants, sticking cuttings, pulling/spray for weeds, spacing plants, watering plants, flat & basket assembly, greenhouse maintenance, ground maintenance, loading flats/pots into transplanter, cleaning greenhouses, Ag Equipment Operator. Additional job duties: Working in onsite show beds, stock beds and fields. Assist with plant production to include trimming, splitting, potting, and moving plants into and out of on-site greenhouses and fields. Workers will assist with plant growing to include weeding, planting beds and fields, working in on-site landscaping of show beds, trimming, pruning plant inventory, and moving plants into and out of on-site greenhouses and fields. Assist with plant shipment to include cleaning, organizing, moving plants into and out of on-site greenhouses and fields, watering, weeding, boxing, and tagging plants for shipping and loading trucks. Farm Equipment Operation: Workers may be required to operate farm equipment during daily operations, as an incidental activity. Before any worker is required to operate any farm equipment, workers will be instructed in the safety and operation of the tractor before driving the tractor. Tractors should be driven in a manner to protect operator, other workers, products, trees, crops, and equipment. Repeated failure to obey safety requirements and operating instructions may result in termination. General Maintenance: Workers will perform various duties for upkeeping of the nursery property, lawns, gardens, greenhouses, fields, equipment, and buildings. These duties may include painting of nursery buildings, fence repair, mowing, weed eating, and other general building and ground maintenance. This job order covers multiple worksites with staggered start dates. Workers will perform the same job duties described in this order at the worksites listed in Section F. Four (4) workers will begin employment at Straders Greenhouse (Shawnee) on January 12, 2026. Six (6) additional workers will begin employment at Straders Greenhouse (Shawnee) on February 2, 2026. Four (4) workers will begin employment at Straders Greenhouse (Grove City) on February 16, 2026. Two (2) workers will begin employment at Straders Greenhouse (Route 42) on February 16, 2026. All workers will be employed through September 26, 2026. Each worker will be employed for the full period of employment applicable from their individual start date, as indicated in Section A.5. Exact start dates may vary slightly depending on nursery operational needs, weather conditions, and worker arrival schedules, but all workers are guaranteed employment for the full period once their work begins.
EMPLOYER ASSURANCES:
BOARD ARRANGEMENTS: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so workers are able to prepare their own meals. The employer will provide transportation to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries.
HOUSING: Employer-provided housing is available for all workers who live outside a reasonable daily driving distance.
TRANSPORTATION TO WORK SITE: The employer will provide transportation for all workers living in the employer-provided housing to and from the daily work site(s).
WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE: Provided.
TOOLS, SUPPLIES, EQUIPMENT: Tools, supplies, and equipment needed to complete the job will be provided by the employer at no cost to the worker.
