As a Senior Geophysicist, you will plan, develop, and direct large-scale projects, ensuring technical excellence and data integrity from field collection to final reporting. You'll provide expert consultation, oversee data processing, and lead business development initiatives for our geophysical service line. In this role, you'll mentor staff, maintain cutting-edge knowledge of industry advancements, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver innovative solutions for challenging projects.
Your Day-to-Day:
Field Leadership & Data Collection: Design and execute complex investigations, ensuring accuracy and quality in all field measurements and data collection processes. Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures to maintain the highest standards.
Advanced Data Processing: Apply your deep expertise in geophysical data processing to interpret results, troubleshoot anomalies, and deliver actionable insights for projects of varying size and complexity.
Technical Oversight & Review: Provide strategic guidance and technical review for service line operations. Develop and refine standard procedures, ensuring consistency and excellence across all projects.
Proposal Development & Client Engagement: Lead the preparation of proposals, define investigation scopes, and collaborate with clients to align scientific approaches with project objectives. Take an active role in business development and contract negotiations.
Mentorship & Continuous Improvement: Train and mentor professional and technical staff, sharing best practices and case studies. Stay ahead of emerging scientific methods and recommend new programs or changes to enhance geophysical work. Collaborate across offices to address technical challenges and drive innovation.
What You Bring:
A Bachelor's degree in geophysics, geology, or an appropriate field
A Master's degree or a PhD, a plus
A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
A Professional Licensure or Registration, a plus
Excellent business and technical writing skills
Strong project planning and execution skills with advanced proficiency in geophysical data analysis software
Excellent supervisory and people management skills to effectively lead teams with varying responsibilities and tasks
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment, such as:
Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially up to 12 hours a day
Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
Maneuvering field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground around active construction sites
