Job Summary




Responsible for the new product development process, from concept to full commercial launch of molecular diagnostic products. This role will take the lead assessing the market, collaborating with project teams to move products through the pipeline, outlining product requirements, building and executing go-to-market and launch plans, and partnering with commercial marketing and sales training to ensure the sales force is equipped with tools to sell new products. Work cross-functionally with R&D, Operations, QA/RA, Project Management, Product Management, Finance, and Sales to drive Meridian strategy.

Direct knowledge of and experience in the molecular diagnostic market is required


Key Duties




Work with global commercial marketing teams to develop sustainable product go-to-market plans for molecular diagnostic products that include market assessments, competitive analyses, product overviews, targeting/customer segmentation, messaging, sales tools, collateral, promotions, servicing, and pricing
Collaborate with product managers, sales trainers, and marketing and sales leaders to develop and execute comprehensive new product launches and sales training on new molecular diagnostic products
Complete market assessments, build business cases and product requirements, and make recommendations for new products to enhance the pipeline
Establish relationships with key opinion leaders to gather technical information and to understand current trends in the molecular diagnostic market
Help identify, assess, and drive potential business opportunities to identify growth opportunities in both revenue and profit
Partner with R&D, Operations, Regulatory, Quality, Project Management, Product Management, Finance, and Sales in new product development projects
Ad hoc projects as assigned


Qualifications




Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related business field OR degree in related scientific discipline with appropriate experience. MBA preferred
A least five years of experience in marketing in clinical laboratory diagnostics
Experience in the IVD industry and/or clinical (non-NGS) molecular/microbiology diagnostic labs
Must have experience in product development, successful product launches, and/or new product launches

Travel

Must be able to travel by car/air to other Meridian Bioscience locations up to 10% of the time.



Physical

Must be able to concentrate, analyze and solve complex issues throughout the course of the work shift
Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs throughout the workday in a multi-location facility
Must be able to lift to 20 pounds of supplies or finished product throughout the work shift
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (latex or nitrile gloves, face shields/safety glasses, etc.)
Must be able to adhere to applicable biosafety practices when on the manufacturing floor or in laboratories
Ability to stand, stoop, reach, push and pull throughout the course of the work shift
Loading/unloading vehicles with literature, manuals, account files, demo instruments, and demo kits. Set-up and tear-down of exhibit booths
