Northwestern Ohio Community Action Commission (NOCAC) Head Start Preschool is seeking a caring, dependable Teacher Assistant to join our team for the 2025–2026 school year. This role works as a part of a teaching team at our Paulding Head Start classroom and includes assisting with driving a small school bus to help transport preschoolers safely. No CDL? No problem. NOCAC provides and pays for all CDL training (must be at least 21 years old).

Position Highlights:

• Monday–Thursday daytime schedule (Fridays off)
• 34 hours per week
• Summers off
• Collaborate with teachers to support children ages 3–5 in their social, emotional, and educational development
• Help with student transportation by driving a small school bus (CDL training provided)

Pay:

• $16.29/hour starting rate (with a high school diploma or GED)
• $17.86/hour after obtaining a CDL
• Higher wages available for candidates with a CDA or college degree

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED (required)
• One year of experience in an early childhood education setting (preferred)
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and insurable under NOCAC’s policy
• Able to engage in active play and movement in a preschool classroom environment
