Job Title: Warehouse Manager
Location: Bedford, Ohio Department: Operations / Warehouse Reports to: Chief Operations Officer (COO)
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Manager oversees all warehouse operations for the distribution center, including receiving, storage, inventory control, and shipping products. This position ensures that warehouse procedures support demand, inventory accuracy, safety, and operational efficiency. The Warehouse Manager leads a team of associates and coordinates logistics and purchasing to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains warehouse staff.

Oversee the daily workflow and assignments of warehouse team members.

Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

Implements and enforces company safety policies and procedures.

Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Manage all warehouse activities including receiving, stocking, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping.

Ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment for retail locations.

Monitor and maintain warehouse layout and organization for efficiency and safety.

Track inventory levels and work closely with procurement to prevent stockouts or overstock.

Ensure all inbound and outbound shipments meet quality, quantity, and documentation standards.

Ensure adherence to safety protocols, proper lifting techniques, and company policies.

Verify load accuracy by reviewing documentation, inspecting merchandise, and checking against shipping manifests.

Collaborate with drivers and warehouse management to ensure smooth overnight operations.

Maintain clean and organized work area and ensure equipment is in a safe working condition.

Troubleshoot issues related to loading delays, equipment malfunctions, or staffing gaps.

Train staff in the safe use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.

Maintain accurate records of warehouse transactions and reconcile discrepancies.

Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.

Analyze operational performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.

Oversee equipment maintenance and recommend capital improvements as needed.

Complete shift reports and document any incidents, delays, or discrepancies.

Will perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong leadership and team management abilities are important.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines.

Proficient in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively.

Ability to function well in a fast-paced, warehouse environment.
Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.

At least 2 years of warehouse operations experience, including 1 year in a supervisory role.

Experience in a retail warehouse/distribution center is strongly preferred.

OSHA certification or warehouse safety training preferred.
Working Conditions – Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the warehouse.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Must be able to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

Required evening or weekend shifts during peak periods.
