Job Description

MTSI is seeking an adaptable and skilled Tactical Edge System Architect located at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio with a Top-Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities:

System and Infrastructure Design: Develop architectural frameworks tailored for DoD systems that align with operational and cybersecurity requirements.
Engineering Analysis: Perform software, hardware, and infrastructure assessments to ensure optimal system functionality.
Technical Oversight: Work with technical teams in delivering high-quality solutions to complex engineering challenges for classified environments.
Integration and Testing: Oversee the integration of new systems, components, or services and establish testing regimens to validate performance and security.
Project Life Cycle Management: Ensure continuity throughout the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance phases of system architectures.
Documentation and Reporting: Generate clear and thorough architectural documentation, technical artifacts, and detailed project reports for DoD stakeholders.
Collaboration: Facilitate coordination between government program officials, engineering teams, and other contractors to achieve project milestones.
Emerging Technologies: Analyze and recommend innovative solutions, including cloud migration, AI/ML tools, and advanced cybersecurity measures.

Qualifications:

Required:

Active Top Secret clearance (SCI eligible preferred).
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
7+ years of experience in systems engineering, architecture design, or related technical fields, with at least 3 years supporting Federal/DoD projects.
Understanding of DoD architecture frameworks
Proven capability in designing secure and scalable infrastructures to include hybrid cloud deployments and tactical edge hardware for military use.
Expertise in network systems and secure data storage solutions.
Familiarity of cybersecurity protocols, STIGs, and compliance requirements in classified systems.
Familiarity with DevSecOps principles, CI/CD, and microservices-based software architectures.
Familiarity with open system architectures
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Self-starting, charge-the-hill mentality to deliver mission capability at the speed of need.

Desired:

Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Azure Local
10+ years of experience in systems engineering, architecture design, or related technical fields, with at least 5 years supporting Federal/DoD projects.
Familiarity of multi-level security system design and usage.
Familiarity with aircraft ground systems, to include mission planning and debrief, maintenance management and debrief, and ground communications
