Position: Electrical Engineer - Ruggedized Electronics (Ordnance Applications)

Location: CINCINNATI, Ohio
Clearance Required: Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance

Key Responsibilities:


* Design and develop analog and digital electronics for ruggedized ordnance systems.
* Conduct circuit tolerance analyses using hand calculations and SPICE simulation tools.
* Develop, refine, and ensure compliance with technical requirements.
* Create and execute test plans for product performance evaluations (Brassboard, Design Verification, Qualification, Firing Properties, etc.).
* Perform testing across all phases of the product development lifecycle.
* Support failure investigations using structured problem-solving tools (8D, Fishbone, Cause & Effect).
* Prepare materials for design reviews throughout the development cycle.
* Generate Engineering Orders (EOs) and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
* Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications:


* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of experience, or
Master's degree with 2+ years of experience, or
8+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
* Strong experience in analog design: op amps, differential amplifiers, LDOs, filters, data converters.
* Solid foundation in digital design: logic gates, flip-flops, timers, digital filters.
* Power supply and conditioning design experience (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC, linear and switching supplies).
* Familiarity with serial communication protocols: UART, SPI, I2C.
* Experience with sensors: temperature, MEMS accelerometers, pressure sensors, gyroscopes.
* Knowledge of EMI suppression, ESD protection, and short-circuit protection best practices.
* Proficiency in module design: component selection, circuit analysis, layout.
* Skilled in troubleshooting using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, meters).
* Experience with simulation tools (LTSpice, MATLAB/Simulink) and schematic capture/layout tools (Altium, PADS).
* Proven ability to lead large-scale technical projects independently.
* Strong documentation skills: test plans, reports, drawings.
* Root cause analysis experience.

Preferred Skills:


* BSEE/CompE with 7+ years of experience.
* Experience designing Electronic Safety and Arming Devices (ESADs) and Ignition Safety Devices per MIL-STD-1316 and MIL-STD-1901A.
* Familiarity with presenting designs to Safety Review Boards (AFSRB, FISTRP, NNMSB).
* Hands-on experience with energetic materials testing (EFDIs, LEEFIs, lead charges, boosters).
* Design experience for extreme environments (vibration, shock, temperature, humidity).
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills across multidisciplinary teams.

Pay Range: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour.
