Outreach Coordinator (Part-Time)

About Us:

Samaritan Works is a nonprofit, faith-based sober living and recovery program serving individuals in Shelby County who are committed to overcoming substance use disorder (SUD). We provide supportive housing, recovery mentorship, and spiritual growth in a structured and compassionate environment.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an Outreach Coordinator to join our team and walk alongside individuals in recovery. The ideal candidate will have personal experience with recovery and be passionate about helping others rebuild their lives through sobriety, faith, and community support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide peer-based recovery support to residents in our sober homes
• Share lived experience to offer hope, encouragement, and accountability
• Facilitate or co-lead group recovery activities
• Support residents with goal setting, relapse prevention strategies, and resource navigation
• Engage in community outreach activities to provide support to community members
• Maintain clear and confidential documentation of peer support interactions
• Collaborate with staff to uphold a supportive and structured recovery environment
• Work with individuals in recovery and make appropriate referrals to service providers

Qualifications:

• Certified Peer Supporter through OhioMHAS, or CDCA, or Associate in Social Work
• Minimum 1 year of sustained recovery from substance use
• Strong commitment to personal wellness and ethical boundaries
• Comfort with incorporating faith-based principles into recovery work
• Ability to build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• Familiarity with local recovery resources and community support services
• Comfort with public appearances in the community
