Your Opportunity as Associate Manager Supply Quality Assurance
Location: Orrville, OH
Work Arrangements: Monday - Friday - Hybrid
In this role you will:
Ensure compliance and improvements to approval process for qualification of new ingredient suppliers.
Manage quality and food safety expectations for existing ingredient supply chain which includes, but is not limited to, audit corrective action follow up, facilitating discussion between Smucker plant and supplier when quality/food safety issues require mitigation, supporting internal raw material sampling and testing protocol and data analysis, etc.
Conduct audits at supplier locations as required prior to purchasing and as needed.
Maintain and review ingredient supplier documentation.
Monitor compliance to Smucker ingredient specifications through receiving data and Supplier Non-Conformance Report review and work to reduce non-conformances.
Ensure ingredient specifications are routed and approved per project timelines and in alignment with material attribute requirements.
Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to more effectively address issues.
Maintain Raw Material Hazard Analysis for related ingredient portfolios.
Maintain Approved Vendor List for ingredient usage in Smucker products.
Support systems used for department including confidence in learning new software systems and deep diving into problem solving as required.
Other projects as needed.

What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree is required a Food Science or related scientific degree is preferred
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in food manufacturing environment with QA or Food Safety experience preferred
Minimum 3-5 years progressive experience QA/Food Safety
Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (human or animal food) or HACCP experience is preferred
Experience with external supplier or co-manufacturing relationship is preferred.
Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:
Solid working knowledge of quality assurance, food manufacturing, packaging, processing, and distribution
Strong ability to work in cross-functional & team-oriented environment with multiple disciplines
Proven capabilities in project management
Self-starter; take charge, positive & proactive attitude
Easily understands & follow directions
Ability to lead several projects altogether and concurrently
Detail & process oriented with strong problem resolution abilities
Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Specification management system like Prodika, SharePoint, TraceGains etc.)
Ability to communicate clearly within the organization and externally
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High emotional intelligence and ability to work with ever changing conditions
Position may require up to 40% travel annually
