Position: Direct Support Professional / Caregiver
Location: Painesville, Ohio
Hours: Part Time to Full Time (1st and 2nd shift)
Pay: $16.50-$18/Hr

POSITION SUMMARY
The Direct Support Professional / Caregiver provides in-home support services under professional supervision to help clients maintain independence and safety. This role follows a written plan of care and performs a range of personal care and household support tasks to enhance client well-being.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide personal care services, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene support
- Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and laundry
- Support mobility, transfers, and safe movement throughout the home
- Offer companionship, social engagement, and emotional support
- Monitor and report changes in client condition to supervisory staff
- Follow all written care plans and safety procedures
- Maintain accurate, legible documentation as required
- Adhere to infection control, OSHA, and safety standards
- Communicate clearly with clients, families, and care team members
- Follow all agency protocols for professionalism, conduct, and confidentiality
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma, GED, or one year of home care experience
- Successful completion of written competency exam and skills demonstration for home care aide certification
- Ability to interpret written and verbal instructions
- Effective communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with older adults
- Ability to assess client needs and respond appropriately
- Completion of competency exam and skills evaluation
- Compliance with OSHA standards, TB testing, and related health requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Must pass a background check
