Molding Process Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Molding Process Technician to manage and optimize our compression molding operations. This hands-on role is responsible for machine setup, tool changes, process initiation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities to ensure high-quality production and efficient departmental function.
Key Job Duties
Process Management: Initiate and continually monitor all processes related to compression molding and make necessary adjustments within process tolerances.
Troubleshooting: Expertly troubleshoot compression presses and robots, and assist with resolving problems in assembly equipment.
Tooling and Setup: Execute all tool changes and auxiliary equipment setup.
Equipment Connections: Responsible for properly connecting tools (including water, hydraulic, vacuum, and electrical).
Material Handling: Assist with setting up and loading material into the slitter machine.
Quality & Improvement: Analyze and resolve process problems, address product non-conformity issues, and conform to the implementation of continuous process improvement.
New Trials: Assist in the set-up and start-up of new tools and materials for trial.
Compliance: Must obtain and maintain a forklift certification.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Experience: A minimum of three years of molding experience is required.
Technical Knowledge: Must have experience processing plastics and setting tools.
Automation: Knowledge of robot programming and troubleshooting is a must.
Education: An Associate degree in a technical field of study is preferred, but three years of work-related experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Physical Requirements
The position requires the ability to perform physically demanding work in a manufacturing environment:
Standing or walking for a minimum of eight (8) hours a day.
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis.
Performing work below the knees and above the shoulders on an occasional basis.
Ability to climb stairs and good vision at a close distance are necessary.
