The Eastern Ohio Correction Center (EOCC) is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Office Assistant to provide administrative, HR, and payroll support within a secure, professional correctional environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy of records, the organization of office operations, and the smooth coordination of HR processes. The ideal candidate is proactive, professional, and capable of handling confidential information with the highest level of discretion.
Key Responsibilities
General Office Support
- Greet and assist visitors, staff, vendors, and program participants while following all facility security procedures.
- Answer and route phone calls professionally and efficiently.
- Prepare routine correspondence, reports, memos, and audit-related documentation.
- Maintain organized physical and digital filing systems for administrative and resident records.
- Provide daily administrative support to EOCC leadership and departments as needed.
Data Entry & Records Management
- Accurately enter, update, and maintain resident information in our database system (SecurManage).
- Generate reports and maintain digital records for internal use, audits, and compliance.
- Ensure file accuracy, proper retention, and secure storage practices.
Human Resources & Payroll Support
- Assist with onboarding of new employees and volunteers, including preparing HR packets and coordinating background checks and drug screenings.
- Maintain up-to-date employee records, physical and digital, including attendance, leave requests, training logs, and evaluations.
- Support payroll processing by collecting, verifying, and organizing timesheets, overtime submissions, and leave balances.
- Collaborate with HR staff to ensure compliance with ODRC requirements and Ohio employment regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional administrative training or certification preferred).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and comfort with data entry platforms.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, drug screening, and meet all EOCC/ODRC employment requirements.
