Job Description

Manual Machinist - Akron, Ohio - JOB 25-01638

Salary Range: $20.00 - $30.00/HR Permanent Position with Benefits

Akron Area Manufacturing Company is seeking to hire an experienced Manual Machinist to set up and operate mills and lathes.

REQUIREMENTS
• High school graduate, GED, or equivalent experience in a machine shop
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience operating metal lathes
• Crank machines through cycles, stopping to adjust tool positions and machine controls to ensure specified timing, clearances and tolerances
• Familiar with manual speeds and feeds for mills
• Select cutting tools, follow tooling instructions according to written specifications
• Properly use and interpret micrometers, bore gages, calipers, and other measuring equipment
• Able to understand technical documentation, blueprints, routing instructions...
• Understanding lean principals preferred
• CNC experience is a plus
• Able to work 1st shift 6am – 4:30pm Monday - Thursday or 7am – 3:30pm Monday - Friday

Candidates are required to pass a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen.
