Responsible for coordinating and ensuring compliance in the awarding of University departmental scholarship awards. This position provides updates to over 80 University departments and over 20 outside organizations on scholarship criteria and fund management.

Essential Duties
Coordinates the awarding and processes nearly $5,000,000 departmental scholarship awards each year by reviewing and interpreting the legal endowed gift agreements for over 2,370 scholarship accounts to ensure compliance.
Responsible for awarding institutional funds for programs such as, Governor’s, Transfer, and International scholarships.
Responsible for processing over $250,000 in awards each year for the Paper Science & Engineering Foundation and over $1,000,000 in summer scholarships for graduate students.
Coordinates the development of an annual report on University scholarship expenditures for University Advancement, the Provost and College Deans.
Acts as liaison with over 80 University departments and 20 outside organizations regarding the awarding of University scholarships.
Organizes and manages Google folders/access for scholarship funds. These folders are used to disseminate scholarship fund balances and procedures to departments and outside organizations. Creates and runs reports for departments as needed. Ensures all departments complete a nomination or expenditure plan each year (funds over $999), which often involves multiple points of contact.
Responsible for setting up new scholarship funds. Audits (SQL, Access, VLOOKUP) over 3000 funds and inactivates funds as appropriate. Works closely with University Advancement to ensure the set up of funds are in line with the donor’s intent.
Annually awards over 200 non-renewable funds to students which requires creating/running reports to determine eligibility. Processes RedHawk Replacement report which replaces institutional scholarships with donor funds ($2,000,000+).
Responsible for processing actions for scholarships, competition/prizes, and stipends.
Responsible for maintaining various electronic files, including student and scholarship files.This responsibility includes record retention as well as general maintenance and care.
Develops and maintains department policy and procedures related to the administration of scholarships.
Assists students, parents, faculty, and staff with financial aid questions including scholarship eligibility and status.
Functions as back-up for other scholarship staff when they are unavailable. Also serves as a back-up Counselor assisting with processing, meeting with families, and presentations.

Minimum Qualifications
2 years of experience or an Associate's degree;
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills, proven customer service skills, excellent data entry, effective presentation skills, and the ability to work cooperatively with others.
Attention to detail, accuracy and problem-solving skills are essential.
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of financial aid and experience with the Banner system.
Experience in a financial assistance office
