We are pleased to announce the opening for a Software Technical Lead, who will join our Technical Solutions Division and Skyfall Team in Dayton, OH, and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces. You will be part of a team that modernizes the customer database and develop modern analytic User Interfaces (UIs). The position is responsible for leading software engineering, data architecture, and system integration efforts to enhance mission applications for intelligence data production, storage, dissemination, and exploitation. Please note that this position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead software modernization efforts, focusing on performance and scalability.
  • Oversee data migration activities, ensuring compatibility and functional testing.
  • Direct the design and development of modern UI/UX to improve usability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, database, and UI engineers, to ensure successful integration and performance.
  • Provide constructive feedback during code reviews, promoting high-level software practices.
  • Participate in an agile development, providing recommended improvements as needed.
  • Collaborate with other product technical leads to identify reusable components/services that enhance efficiency and business value across multiple products.
  • Increase product reliability/maintainability through unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Learn and adopt new and emerging technologies, demonstrating growth mindset and participating in ongoing professional development.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering professional growth, technical excellence, and collaboration.
  • Excel in documentation, including in-code comments, internal wikis, flowcharts, and system architecture documents.
  • Debug multiple services across a product, identifying root causes and implement fixes.
  • Work closely with the Program Manager, clearly communicating tradeoffs between technology options, delivery timelines, and mission priorities.[KH5]
  • Communicate technical progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to government stakeholders and program management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master's degree (MA/MA) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Management, or similar [KH7] degree preferred. Four years of experience plus a Bachelor’s degree is acceptable in lieu of a Master’s degree.
  • 10+ years of software engineering, including 3+ years in a technical leadership role.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience interacting with customers.
  • Active Top Secret / Special Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
  • U.S. citizen required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing GraphQL APIs.
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms like AWS GovCloud, Secret, or Top Secret zones.
  • Familiarity using Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) environment.
  • Experience with graph databases, with SurrealDB/ArangoDB specifically.
  • Experience with alternative software testing such as property-based/generative testing, fuzzing, or chaos engineering
  • Experience supporting NASIC, DoD, or Intelligence Community programs.

Experience with the NASIC Mission Readiness Environment (MRE) or NASIC Unified Cloud (NUC).
