Position: Material Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for overseeing the procurement, receipt, storage, and distribution of materials to ensure operations run smoothly and cost-effectively. Key duties include managing inventory, coordinating materials with suppliers, and resolving shortages or delivery issues. The role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to support supply chain efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Monitor stock levels, organize and optimize storage locations, conduct cycle counts and audits, and maintain appropriate inventory to meet operational demands.
• Coordinate with material suppliers and service vendors to schedule timely deliveries that align with production requirements and stocking levels.
• Safely coordinate internal movement of materials to production areas to ensure availability according to established schedules.
• Utilize required software and systems to create and maintain production schedules. Work with Production, Sales, and Inventory reports within an ERP system, including integrating ERP data with Excel for spreadsheet functionality.
• Collaborate with Production Planners to manage raw material supply, review customer requirements, understand quality documentation needs, and escalate feedback to internal stakeholders. May include supporting office functions, cost control activities, basic reporting around WIP and inventory, and quality-driven initiatives.
• Role includes standing for extended periods and working in areas with heat, dust, and other foundry-like conditions. Duties may involve lifting or moving materials and operating material-handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Adherence to safety procedures and proper use of protective equipment is required.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Three to five years of related experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, and management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain detailed records, and sustain a structured work schedule.
• Experience with inventory software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office products preferred.
• Understanding of basic measuring equipment and industry material standards.
• High attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Business needs and trade compliance requirements mandate U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency.
