Position Summary:

Leads both internal and external die cast trouble report (Form-1 & Form-2) activities through investigation and work with responsible DC manufacturing divisions for the effective closure of all Die Casting internal and external corrective actions.

Scope of Responsibility:

Lead / support corrective action activities for both internal and external die casting quality issues. Ensures claim countermeasures promised to the customer are implemented in a timely manner and are effective to prevent repeat issues at the customer.  Leads the closure of DC QSTR’s and Customer Complaint Form-1, and Internal DC Form-2.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

•    Daily Management:

•    Lead DC corrective action activities from receipt through closure.

•    Review corrective actions responses to ensure all countermeasures are in place.

•    Supports / Fills out corrective action form. (Form-1 and Form-2) 

•    Submits filled out corrective action form to die casting senior manager for approval.

•    Complies required corrective action evidence into Red folders for closure.

•    Tracks DC open corrective actions and communicates status (reporting).

•    Supports Weekly Leadership Corrective Action Meetings

•    Applicable reporting, as assigned.

•    Performs similar or related duties as assigned.

 

Improvement Activities:

•    Apply Deming principles and other root cause analysis tools (5 why) when analyzing problems within the associate’s department and makes appropriate recommendations for improvements.

•    May participate in Quality Circle improvement team when possible.

•    May perform other related improvement functions as assigned.

 

Education / Experience / Training

•    Minimum Required:

•    High School Diploma or GED.

•    Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

•    Ability to work with minimal direction / supervision.

•    Good written and verbal communication skills; good organizational skills; good problem-solving skills with experience in the use of analytical tools.

•    Strong knowledge and use of Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Word.

•    Familiarity with generating Pivot Tables, data validation, filters and formulas in Excel and ability to troubleshoot Microsoft Office issues.

 

 Recommended:

•    Strong knowledge / background of the die-casting process.

•    Experience with analytical thinking and corrective action process 

•    Certified Internal Auditor for ISO / IATF 16949.
