Express Employment Professionals in West Carrollton, OH is looking for an Experienced Protrak Lathe Operator. This is a 1st shit position that pays based on your experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setup & Operation: Mount workpieces, set tools, define tool offsets, and run the machine
- Programming: Create or edit programs for turning, facing, grooving, threading, tapers, and radii using the Prototrak interface (often conversational/DXF import)
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read technical drawings to understand tolerances, dimensions, and materials
- Quality Control: Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) to inspect parts and ensure they meet specifications
- Maintenance: Perform basic machine cleaning, lubrication, and troubleshooting
Essential Skills & Requirements:
- Machining: Experience with manual and CNC lathes, understanding feeds, speeds, and cutting tools
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues during setup or production
- Attention to Detail: Crucial for maintaining tight tolerance and high-quality finishes
- Safety: Adherence to shop safety protocols (PPE, machine guarding)
- Communication: Work effectively with engineers and supervisors
