Job Summary

Vertiv is seeking a Manager, Engineering - Thermalto manage customer-specified product projects requiring modification of standard products in the R&D and Engineering Department. This position will be responsible and accountable for the coordinated management of a project, over cross functional groups, directed toward strategic business and other organizational objectives. The role also has a heavy operational element in carrying out component selections, thermodynamic designs, conceptual layouts etc. Projects include modifying chilled water, direct expansion, and liquid cooling products.

Responsibilities:


* Lead a multi-disciplinary, multi-country engineering team managing many quick projects simultaneously.
* Develop reporting and tracking programs to assure the team activities are on target for schedule and cost.
* Identify key issues and drive decisions to ensure that the projects do not slip. Identify and resolve risks/issues quickly.
* Communicate with other managers, upper management, or outside vendors and other plants, as required.
* Responsible that the project is following the Special Feature Enhancements process
* Facilitate cross-functional planning and project execution.
* Deliver a fast and customer focused response on "engineered to order complex" (ETO-C) projects, where a new solution is based on an existing and well proven platform.
* To lead the re-engineering of existing products, collaborating with Sales, Procurement and Industrial Engineering, being aware of the customer's needs.
* To approve and review product documentation (CAD drawings, specifications, bills of material).
* To meet objectives of cost, quality, environment and time of execution.
* To analyze and resolve technical problems as regards products under his/her responsibility.
Requirements:


* Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Thermal, or Electrical)
* At least 5 years of previous experience on similar projects, with experience as a supervisor or manager of people
* Good knowledge of thermodynamics and refrigeration principles are essential.
* Knowledge of thermodynamics, physics, engineering and manufacturing processes.
* English - Intermediate level - written and spoken.
* A high level of motivation combined with leadership abilities is required.
* Knowledge of technical norms and standards.
* Competences: result-oriented, team player, careful to details, flexible.

Time Travel Needed:


* Up to 20%
* Availability to travel on request between the Westerville (OH USA), Monterrey (MX) and Pune (India) locations
