Job Summary

The Sr. Electrical Engineer, Library Management is responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing libraries of electronic components used in printed circuit board (PCB) design. They ensure that these libraries are accurate, up-to-date, and compatible with various design tools and manufacturing processes.

This position will be based onsite at our Vertiv Westerville, OH - Polaris location.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Create and maintain component library databases, schematic symbols, and component land patterns within established Vertiv standards.
* Demonstrate proficiency with toolset EDM Mentor Graphics for component library creation and management.
* Design and create accurate footprints/Cells for various electronic components, considering factors like package type, pin spacing, and manufacturing tolerances.
* Develop schematic symbols that represent the functional behavior and pin connections of electronic components.
* Organize and maintain component libraries, ensuring that they are well-structured, easy to navigate, and compatible with different design tools.
* Review and verify the accuracy of component libraries, identifying and correcting any errors or inconsistencies. Work closely with PCB designers, engineers, and manufacturing teams to address component-related issues and ensure smooth design and production processes.
* Knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes, industry standards and regulations (IPC, RoHS, JEDEC, REACH, UL).
* Knowledge of various soldering processes - e.g. Wave Soldering, SMT Reflow soldering, etc.
* Experience in IEEE standards for schematic symbol creation, PCB Library Creation as per IPC SM-7351.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills. Attention to detail.
* Demonstrates a sense of urgency, commitment, and focus on the right priorities.
* The electronics industry is constantly evolving, so staying updated with new components and technologies is essential.
* Ability to analyze and solve technical issues with limited or no supervision.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
* Ability to execute on schedules for Part creation request for Electronics Library.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills are necessary.
* Represents Engineering in technical meetings with Vertiv departments and others outside of Vertiv.
* Construction and Task schedule development and adherence.
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:


* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
* 5+ years of experience in a CAD librarian position.
* Siemens EDM Mentor Graphics design capture, Siemens Xpedition, and Mentor Graphics VX2.10 or higher (currently using VX2.14) printed circuit design CAD experience preferred.
