 Position Overview
 As a Prevention Specialist, you will serve young children and families by partnering with early childhood education providers—including Head Start programs, childcare centers, and preschools—to promote positive social-emotional development.

 Key Responsibilities for Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant

  • Conduct classroom observations and provide behavior management consultation
  • Teach social-emotional lessons to small groups and classrooms
  • Develop individualized support plans in collaboration with educators and families
  • Refer families to community-based services as needed
  • Lead trainings on trauma, ACEs, resilience, parenting, and mental health
  • Represent GCBHS at community meetings and stakeholder events

Position Requirements for Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant

  • Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood or Elementary Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related human services field
  • Ohio Teaching License or LSW, LPC is required
  • Ability to obtain Early Childhood Mental Health Credential within 2 years
  • Additional credentials preferred:
    • Infant Mental Health Practitioner Credential
    • Trauma-Informed Care, Mental Health First Aid, or QPR certificates
