Job Description
The Human Resources Compliance Analyst serves as a subject matter expert on employment law compliance, leave administration, and ADA accommodations. This role ensures the organization's HR policies and practices comply with federal, state, and local employment regulations and manages employee leave programs, evaluates requests for accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and partners with leadership to promote consistent, equitable, and compliant HR practices across the organization.
Essential Functions
* Monitor, interpret, and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEOC, state-specific leave laws, etc.).
* Conduct regular audits of HR policies, practices, and employee records to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
* Recommend updates to policies and procedures to maintain compliance and alignment with organizational goals.
* Serve as an internal consultant to HR Business Partners and Managers on compliance-related matters.
* Prepare and deliver compliance training sessions for supervisors.
* Administer and coordinate all leave of absence programs, including FMLA, state-specific leaves, military leave, and personal leaves of absence.
* Serve as a main point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave requests, documentation, and return-to-work processes.
* Track and maintain accurate leave records in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
* Collaborate with payroll and benefits teams to ensure accurate pay and benefits continuation during leaves.
* Identify trends or issues in leave administration and propose solutions for process improvement.
* Facilitate the interactive process by coordinating communication between the third-party vendor and employees, managers, and health care providers to identify and implement reasonable accommodations in accordance with legal and organizational requirements.
* Maintain confidentiality and ensure all ADA-related documentation is compliant and properly stored.
* Provide guidance to managers on implementing approved accommodations and monitoring their effectiveness.
* Maintain HR compliance data and prepare reports on leave utilization, accommodation trends, and compliance audits.
* Support HR leadership with metrics and analysis to identify risks or opportunities for process improvement.
Additional Essential Functions
* Ensure compliance with Northwest's policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations
* Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency
* Work as part of a team
* Work with on-site equipment

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
Work Experience
3 - 5 years Progressive experience in HR compliance, leave administration, or employee relations preferred
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
In-depth understanding of Federal and State employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, etc.)
Demonstrated experience managing complex leave and accommodation cases.
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation abilities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Licenses and Certifications
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) preferred
