Director, Creative Services, Head of OTHRWRLD STORIES
Position Overview
The Director, Creative Services serves as the strategic and operational leader of OTHRWRLD STORIES, a next-generation branded content and original IP studio launched in 2026 as a division of Taylor. This foundational role combines creative vision, business development, production excellence, and client partnership to establish OTHRWRLD STORIES as a credible force in the branded content landscape.
This position is responsible for building and scaling a sustainable branded content division-from initial business development through production delivery-while maintaining the boutique craft and cultural fluency that defines OTHRWRLD's positioning.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Vision (20%)
Define and evolve the creative and business strategy for OTHRWRLD STORIES division and provide strategic development support for OTHRWRLD as a whole.
Establish positioning, messaging, and competitive differentiation in the branded content market
Identify emerging opportunities in branded storytelling, original IP development, and creator collaborations
Collaborate with CEO on long-term vision, business model evolution, and growth planning
Represent OTHRWRLD STORIES at industry events, conferences, and in thought leadership opportunities
Business Development & Sales (30%)
Ensures that each project has the specific financial and resources it requires to be successful.
Attend sales presentations to help clients understand the creative angle of each marketing program
Conduct discovery calls, needs assessment, and strategic consultation with prospective clients
Develop compelling proposals, creative treatments, and project budgets
Lead pitch presentations and contract negotiations
Maintain sales pipeline and CRM, tracking all leads from initial contact through closed deals
Creative Development & Production (30%)
Lead creative development for all client projects-from concept through final delivery
Produce branded content projects including documentary shorts and series, podcasts, vertical social content, and founder films
Collaborate with CEO on high-priority projects requiring dual leadership
Develop treatments, shot lists, production schedules, and creative briefs
Manage team across all aspects of production: pre-production, principal photography, post-production, and delivery
Ensure creative excellence and brand alignment across all deliverables
Oversee quality control at every stage of production
Drive original IP portfolio development to showcase capabilities and build brand
Client Relationship Management (10%)
Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with brand partners, agencies, and institutional clients
Manage client expectations, timelines, and communication throughout project lifecycle
Conduct regular check-ins, milestone reviews, and proactive problem-solving
Ensure exceptional client experience leading to repeat business and referrals
Gather client feedback and testimonials for case studies and marketing materials
Project & Budget Management (5%)
Develop detailed project budgets with accurate COGS estimation (target: 45-55%)
Manage project P&L to ensure profitability targets are met
Coordinate freelance crew, vendors, and subcontractors within budget parameters
Track project expenses and maintain financial accountability
Optimize resource allocation across multiple concurrent projects
Team Leadership & Collaboration (5%)
Hire, manage, and develop the OTHRWRLD STORIES team as the division scales
Build and maintain trusted roster of freelance collaborators (editors, DPs, audio engineers, designers)
Assign projects to editors and crew based on creative fit and capacity
Foster collaborative, supportive team culture aligned with OTHRWRLD values
Coordinate with Post-Producer on post-production workflows and timelines
Provide clear direction, constructive feedback, and recognition to team members
Required QualificationsRequirements
7-10+ years in branded content, documentary filmmaking, creative production, or related fields with 5+ years in a leadership role
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design or related field
Portfolio of previous work that displays an ability to turn an idea into a visual piece.
Proven track record producing award-winning content (e.g., Telly Awards, film festival recognition)
Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, or sales in creative industries
Experience managing full production lifecycle from concept to delivery
Strong portfolio demonstrating storytelling craft, creative vision, and production quality

Relationships with potential brand clients, agency partners, or institutional decision-makers
Access to trusted creative collaborators (editors, DPs, designers, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building or scaling a creative business or division
Background in both commercial and documentary/editorial content
Familiarity with Midwest markets and communities (proximity to everyday Americans)
Understanding of emerging trends in AI, content distribution, and creator economy
Podcast production experience
Public speaking or thought leadership experience
Work Environment
Location: Remote with regular presence in NYC for client meetings, team collaboration, and production
Schedule: Flexible with project-based intensity (production weeks may require extended hours; other periods allow for sustainable pacing)
Travel: Moderate travel for client meetings, production shoots, and industry events (estimated 20-30%)
