POSITION SUMMARY


* The Application Engineer, DC Power will assist sales representatives by providing technical support to help sell Vertiv DC Power and Great Lakes outside plant products. Serve as a conduit between the field and the other applicable internal departments across both Vertiv DC Power and Great Lakes teams. This support includes providing technical information on Vertiv products and the application of these products, assistance with custom product features and pricing, ancillary product selection and pricing, and quotation of 3rd party equipment related to company products.
RESPONSIBILITIES


* Develop clear, concise, and technically sound tailored solutions for customer review and acceptance based on customer requirements and/or RFP's, ensuring proper scope and required technical specifications are met.
* Apply Quote Configurator tool to provide comprehensive quote support.
* Review custom equipment orders and provide technical instruction throughout the order workflow.
* Provide applications sales support and formal presentations to sales representatives and end users during factory visits and customer events, as requested.
* Assist with post sale technical support as required.
* Provide industry feedback and product support to Product Managers.
* Participate in new product development projects.
* Travel as required to support increasing Vertiv share of wallet.
* Supports technical proposals, design documentation, and project proposals to aid the design process and delivery to customers.
* Provides sales staff with technical assistance and support for technical documentation and customer-facing presentations & engagements including leading customer communications.
* Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS


* A Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; degree in Electrical Engineering preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* 3+ years of relevant experience, with 1+ years of experience in technical scope review and formal proposal development.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Detail oriented.
* Proficient in MS Office.
* Proficient and fluent in English including technical terminology.
* Understanding of commercial infrastructure design objectives, performance factors, and physical requirements.
* Ability to read and interpret schematics and one-line diagrams.
* Excellent problem-solving skills.

TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED


* 25%.
