The Cut-To-Length Machine Operator sets up, operates, maintains, and monitors the quality processing of stainless steel and aluminum from rolled coil in accordance with specialized packaging instructions to prepare the material for the final customer.
DESCRIPTION:
- Excellent knowledge of the set-up and operation of CTL Lines.
- Follows established technical specifications on all types of rolled coil and associated products.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve any situation.
- Responsible for line operation, line support workers, throughput, scrap, some machine maintenance, and quality of product.
- Read production schedules and work orders to plan the efficient sequence of operations, apply knowledge of physical properties of slit and Cut to Length (CTL) materials.
- Measure completed processed sheets to verify conformance to specifications, using tape measure, micrometers, gauges, or rulers.
- Complete all data entry to job work order documentation and associated materials.
- Forklift/Tow Motor experience.
- Crane experience up to 30 ton..
- Willing to work overtime occasionally– up to 10-hour days and 6-day weeks.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years’ experience in a processing/manufacturing environment, preferably in steel processing or machine operation manufacturing
