3rd Shift CONTROL ROOM TECHNICIAN

JOB DESCRIPTION

Join our team as a Control Room Technician, ensuring seamless medication delivery to long-term care facilities. Our Control Room Technician is responsible for the fulfillment of controlled substance medication orders in specialized packaging for delivery to customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The ability to adhere to the customer’s Code of Conduct, follow their Compliance policies and procedures, and report any suspected violations of any federal or state laws to either their direct supervisor, Human Resources or the Compliance Officer. 
  • Package and label controlled substance medications into specialized packaging according to valid prescriptions for final pharmacist review. .
  • Manage workflow and monitor orders to ensure all controlled substances entered for dispensing are packaged, labeled, verified, and properly toted. 
  • Stage and tote all finished products, completing chain-of-custody documentation for courier hand-off. 
  • Assist with maintaining accurate documentation and records for controlled substances. 
  • Enter and update the pharmacy’s perpetual inventory system, including Controlled Inventory Management (CIM) for Schedule II medications dispensed, received, or removed. 
  • Assist with prepackaging of controlled substances for future use and ensure appropriate documentation is maintained. 
  • Fulfill replenishment requests for long-term care facilities’ on-site emergency supplies. 
  • Support audits and inventory processes as needed. 
  • Unpack and stock items received from the wholesaler (under pharmacist supervision) and immediately escalate any missing or tampered items to the Supervisor or PIC.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High School graduate or equivalent required 
· Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written with English as the primary language

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

· Strong computer skills 
· Thorough understanding of medical terminology and drug knowledge. 
· Math and analytical skills, with a focus on calculations. 
· Minimum of two (2) years working in a long-term care pharmacy preferred but not required

HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS POSITION:

· 3RD SHIFT
· Monday to Friday
· 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM 
· Rotating Weekends & Holidays: 7:00 PM – 3:30 AM 
· $17.00/hour + $1.00 shift differential= $18/hr. 
· PAID WEEKLY
