Grouper Acquisition Company, LLC d/b/a Shiloh Industries, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer for its Wellington, Ohio office.
Job Description: Create or modify equipment, tooling, and process specifications to support the manufacturing process and produce consistent end products. Contribute to the successful implementation of new projects, engineering, and process changes, in agreement with the customer, to ensure and improve quality and delivery of products, while maintaining cost competitiveness. Lead projects including cost and milestone control and plan the set-up and teardown of production equipment. Create performance descriptions for equipment. Obtain offers for equipment and parts to purchase. Estimate production costs, cost saving methods, and the effects of product design changes on expenditures for management review, action, and control. Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished product. Collect and analyze process data by coordinating the efforts of production and quality for effective problem solving and process optimization. Provide floor support to troubleshoot process problems using continuous improvement and root cause analysis techniques. Develop, revise, and document manufacturing processes to meet cost, quality, scrap, labor, and safety goals. Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities. Implement customer product reviews by providing prototypes, tooling, and equipment. Confer with customers, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, product and production specifications, manufacturing capabilities, or project status.
Education Requirement: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Experience Requirements: Three years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Process Engineer, Industrial Engineer or a related occupation, including:
- Three years of experience utilizing lean six sigma tools and leading continuous improvement projects to design and implement optimized systems for production, logistics, and service.
- Three years of experience working with time studies and building discrete event simulation models of manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, areas of improvements, and solutions validation.
- Three years of experience developing standardized work instructions and procedures.
- Three years of experience utilizing ERP systems to review production data, view, and edit build bill of materials.
- Two years of experience conducting data analysis to visualize production and logistics data, identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and KPI monitoring.
- One year of experience utilizing Power BI to build production dashboards with key performance metrics, monitor production data, and measure effectiveness.
- One year of experience building electric forms for quality audits, root cause analysis tools, and production data entries using Microsoft power-apps.
- One year of experience using power automate tools to route automated notifications of critical performance and audit items.
- One year of experience creating, revising, and auditing production management systems, including safety, quality, cost, and service.
- One year of experience designing and optimizing layouts (production floor and warehouses) using AutoCAD software.
Experience may be gained concurrently.
