Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
Location: In-office (Cleveland)
Start Timeframe: Q1

Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Controller to manage accounting and financial operations for a privately held industrial organization. This role is ideal for someone with strong cost accounting and inventory experience who enjoys working in a small, collaborative office environment. The position is contract-to-hire with long-term potential.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee month-end and year-end close using Sage MAS 100
* Maintain general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations
* Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
* Manage inventory valuation, COGS, and cost variance analysis
* Oversee billing, accounts receivable, and collections
* Supervise accounts payable, cash flow, and bank reconciliations
* Oversee payroll, benefits accounting, and compliance
* Build budgets, forecasts, and perform variance analysis
* Serve as Sage MAS 100 system lead and maintain internal controls
* Lead and mentor accounting staff and support leadership initiatives
Qualifications

* 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
* Manufacturing, mining, or industrial accounting background
* Hands-on Sage MAS 100 / Sage 100 experience
* Strong inventory and cost accounting skills
* Advanced Excel skills
* CPA preferred but not required
