Job Description Summary
Under the direction of the Associate Dean of Education Excellence and with a matrix/dotted report to the Senior Assistant Dean and Director of Divisional Advising, the Assistant Director will have primary responsibility for a portfolio of programs for non-business students completing courses in the “You + Business” programs.
Job Description
Essential Duties:
You + Business Program Management
- Collaborate and work with FSB Department Chairs and FSB Associate Dean for Educational Excellence to monitor and ensure that courses needed to complete You + Business programs are generally available to non-FSB students.
- Maintain a centralized database that records current enrollments of FSB and non-FSB students in FSB programs that are open to non-FSB Miami students.
- Provide semi-annual reports to the FSB Dean’s Office on the enrollment trends and other relevant factors relating to FSB programs that are open to non-FSB Miami students. Advising and Student Support.
- Advise Business Minor students.
- Supports non-FSB students seeking to discuss FSB programs that are open to non-FSB Miami students and offers weekly drop-in advising.
Leading (Redesigned) Miami PRIME
- Serve as the lead recruiter for all You + Business programs that are centrally managed by the division rather than by individual FSB departments (e.g., the redesigned Miami PRIME Program).
- Work with the Director of Industry Partnerships to secure a corporate partner for the client case challenge embedded in Miami PRIME.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of experience in advising, undergraduate admission, marketing, communications, undergraduate business education, career development, or related areas.
Consideration will be given to candidates with a Master’s degree in business, Counseling, College Student Personnel, Student Affairs, and Higher Education, or other closely related field; superior interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite software and internet applications; familiarity with Navigate and/or Slate platforms; ability to work effectively and build relationships with a variety of stakeholders in different contexts, including faculty, staff, and students; knowledge of Google Workspace, Banner, Business Intelligence, and/or Workday reporting tools.
