Responsibilities

The Damage Prevention Specialist plays a critical role in preventing utility damages by serving as a liaison between homeowners, contractors, and the gas utility. This position promotes safe excavation practices, ensures accurate utility markings, and supports compliance with state 811 dig laws.

 

Key Responsibilities

Promote and enforce safe digging practices in accordance with state 811 dig laws

Visit active job sites using a company-provided vehicle to communicate with contractors and homeowners regarding safe excavation procedures

Coordinate and facilitate corrections or updates to gas utility markings as needed

Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of utility markings

Accurately document daily activities, observations, and field findings

Assist with identifying marked utilities, structures, and map information in the field

Perform operator-level maintenance on assigned company tools and equipment

Complete other related duties as assigned



Qualifications



    Experience with locating gas utilities highly preferredValid driver's licenseWork outdoors under the full range of weather conditions typically experienced throughout all seasons of the yearProficient communication verbal and written communication
