Industrial Engineer (Intermediate) - Automotive Manufacturing

Location: Toledo, OH

Pay Rate: $39.14/hour

Industry: Automotive / Manufacturing / Assembly Operations

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer (Intermediate) to support automotive assembly operations in Toledo, Ohio. This role focuses on optimizing production layouts, improving workflow efficiency, supporting World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiatives, and partnering with operations and union leadership to drive productivity, quality, and safety improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, analyze, and optimize layouts for production equipment, office spaces, and manufacturing facilities

Conduct workflow, cycle time, bottleneck, and capacity analyses to improve operational efficiency

Develop, standardize, and continuously improve work methods and labor utilization

Support facility efficiency, workplace safety, and ergonomic best practices

Perform direct labor, indirect labor, manpower planning, leveling, and staffing adjustments based on production volume changes

Lead and support ergonomic, labor, and productivity studies within assembly operations

Collaborate closely with functional leaders and operations managers to improve productivity, quality, and throughput

Support World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiatives, with emphasis on:

WO (Workplace Organization)

LO (Logistics) pillars

Assist the IE Manager with industrial engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives

Interface daily with production management and union leadership regarding staffing requirements and IE activities

Support assembly plant volume adjustments and operational changes across all shifts

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering

3+ years of Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of automotive assembly processes

Solid understanding of manufacturing and production systems

Experience conducting labor studies, cycle time analysis, and ergonomic assessments

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Strong communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills

Valid driver's license

Ability to work any shift as required by operations

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency or certification in MODAPTS

Prior experience in high-volume automotive manufacturing environments
